Summary ( goodreads.com) :

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a desperate, last-chance mission—and if he fails, humanity and the earth itself will perish.

Except that right now, he doesn’t know that. He can’t even remember his own name, let alone the nature of his assignment or how to complete it.

All he knows is that he’s been asleep for a very, very long time. And he’s just been awakened to find himself millions of miles from home, with nothing but two corpses for company.

His crewmates dead, his memories fuzzily returning, Ryland realizes that an impossible task now confronts him. Hurtling through space on this tiny ship, it’s up to him to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery—and conquer an extinction-level threat to our species.

And with the clock ticking down and the nearest human being light-years away, he’s got to do it all alone.

Review:

Following Ryland Grace's thoughts was really fun. Even though he was on a very serious mission his thoughts had a humorous undertone. His view on his situation was still very curious and I loved seeing this ordinary character transform himself into a very different person.

In this book there is a lot of science talk to read through, especially at the beginning. These parts were hard to concentrate on and kind of dense at times. Once we actually got to the actual plot parts of the books I really enjoyed them. They were fast paced and fun. In the second half of the book some more interesting things happen and I really enjoyed his research and the way he managed to handle a new situation.

Buchbuzz Rating:

4.5 / 5⭐️- it was such a fun read with many laugh out loud moments. I’m definitely excited to watch the movie now. It's really hard to review this book without spoilers and I would recommend it for ages 15 and up.
